Skills John Griffiths visits PSF Wales and Sister Company Morgan
Marine
The Welsh Deputy Minister for Skills visited on the 4th of November
2009. Both companies have successfully ridden the storm of the
worst recession in living memory and were extremely pleased to
see the minister in this quiet but industrious corner of West
Wales. The visit by the Deputy Minister was planned to enable
the minister to see for himself how Morgan Marine has taken advantage
in this very difficult period to enhance the training and skills
of its workforce.
As the Minister's portfolio would indicate the skills of PSF
personnel was the major topic of discussion and of great interest
to Mr. Griffiths. The company is currently up-skilling it's whole
workforce in collaboration with Colegsirgar at both the Vocational
level for shop floor personnel and as part of a Business Improvement
Training programme (BIT) for administrative staff.
PSF Gains Entry into Red Book
PSF (Wales) Ltd, part of the Morgan GRP Group of companies
has been successful in winning entry in the world renowned Red
Book(published by the Loss Prevention Certification Board, part
of BRE) for the manufacture of its Hercules SAF range of buildings
and doors.
The wall construction and both single and double doors have been
tested to LPCB Levels 2,3 and 4 of LPS1175 Issue 6: Specification
for Testing and Classifying the Burglary Resistance of Building
Components
This opens new markets for the company, ensuring that with diversity
the company can position itself in the best place to protect its
future in these trying market conditions.
